Hi Members,
Please find my report for June below.
Finances:
We’ve had another great month financially, with strong results continuing across the bar, gaming, and on the greens. We are currently $100,000–$150,000 above budget year-to-date, which places the club in a very healthy position. Having now completed our only major capital works for the year with the bar and gaming area upgrade, we are focused on rebuilding cash flow over the next 12 months before moving on to our next project.
Board:
Your Board is working extremely well together, alongside our Manager Craig and his staff. The club is heading in a very positive direction, and the future looks bright.
Volunteers:
Once again, I would like to recognise and sincerely thank all our volunteers. Without these people, our club simply would not be where it is today. Special acknowledgements to:
• Umpires: John Scruton & Evelyn Coglan
• Special Events: Robyn McAnelly & Daphne Reed
• Bunnings BBQ: Tony McAnelly, Noel Giles, and crew
• School Programs: Tony McAnelly and all helpers
• Friday Raffles: All raffle sellers
• Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday Competitions: Everyone who assists
• Games Controller: Dave Arnold, for the excellent job he continues to do
• Pennant Selection: Panel
To everyone listed above, and those not named, a huge thank you on behalf of all members and visitors. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated. If anyone is able to assist in any area, please don’t hesitate to put your hand up. All help is genuinely appreciated.
Bar and Administration Staff:
I was recently told by a visiting patron that we have the best and friendliest staff she has experienced in her many visits to clubs Australia-wide. This is a wonderful accolade for our club and a credit to our team.

Happy bowling, and have a fantastic month!
Hi Members,
Please find my report for May below.
Finances:
Another great month on the balance sheet for our club. Since the introduction of our additional poker machines, our gaming and bar turnover has increased by over 10% each month, which is a fantastic result for the club.
Open Fours Tournament
We recently enjoyed a great weekend hosting our Open Fours Tournament, with 30 teams from far and near competing. Congratulations to all the winners.
A big thank you to Daphne Reed and Robyn McAnelly for their time and effort in organising such a successful event. Special thanks also to Gavin Cummings, who stepped in while Mark Walker was unavailable due to knee surgery. The greens were running exceptionally well despite the recent deluge of rain, and we received nothing but praise from visiting bowlers.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in so many ways — raffles, morning teas, scoring, and more — your time and effort are very much appreciated.
Thanks also to our bar staff for their friendly and efficient service, with many compliments received from visitors.
New Sponsor
A special thank you to our new major club sponsor, Noosa Estate Agents, and Nathan and Stephanie Howie for their generous contribution to the tournament.
We are also pleased to confirm they will be sponsoring our new competition club bowling shirts for the next three years. This sponsorship includes a new shirt, hat, and towel for every full member of the club. These items are currently in production and are expected to arrive before the upcoming Pennant season.
Thank you again, Nathan and Stephanie — your support is greatly appreciated.
Club Championships
Congratulations to the following winners:
The Ladies Pairs will be played in the near future. Congratulations to all finalists on some great games throughout the championships.
Bunnings Sausage Sizzle
We are still looking for additional helpers for the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, held on the second Thursday of each month. Any assistance is welcome, whether for a short or long time, between 7:30am and 3:00pm. Please see Bernie Benson if you are able to help.
Good Bowling,

Underdogs to some — but never to themselves.
Over April 18–19, Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club played host to the district’s best for the prestigious Champion of Champions Fours, and it was the home side who rose to the occasion in impressive fashion.
Backed by a strong and vocal home crowd, the team of Lynne Stewart, Kerry Wilson, Claire Schofield and skip Robyn McAnelly delivered a composed and determined performance to claim the title.
While some may have underestimated their chances, the local supporters who turned out in force never did. Their presence created a genuine home-ground advantage that the team embraced throughout the two-day event.
Displaying outstanding teamwork and resilience, the Tewantin Noosa side overcame highly regarded opposition, remaining calm under pressure and consistently delivering when it mattered most.
As one supporter observed, “They never looked beaten and continually delivered under pressure.”
Skipper Robyn McAnelly acknowledged the role of the crowd, saying, “The amazing support was greatly appreciated and made a big difference. We thank everyone who came along.”
The victory is another positive step forward for Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club, reflecting the club’s continued growth and strong direction both on and off the green.
For now, however, the spotlight belongs to four outstanding players who have secured a well-earned and memorable title for their club.
Results:
Quarter Final: Tewantin Noosa 24 def Maroochydore 13
Semi Final: Tewantin Noosa 24 def Kawana 9
Final: Tewantin Noosa 23 def Coolum 13

Happy bowling, and have a fantastic month!
Hi Members,
Please find my report for February below.
Finances:
We’ve recorded another record-breaking month in trading, making it five outstanding months in a row. This is a fantastic start to the year and has allowed us to continue improving our facilities, helping attract new members, social members, and visitors to our great club.
Club Renovations:
At the time of writing, our renovations are almost complete. The extension to the gaming room looks terrific, with the purchase of 10 additional machines from the Noosa Yacht Club, bringing our total to 35 machines. Pop in, have a punt, and try your luck!
New TV – Sports Bar:
We’ve installed a new large-screen TV in the sports bar and relocated the smaller TVs to a new wall. This gives members and guests more screens to enjoy a wide range of sports — especially timely with footy season just around the corner. This upgrade will be a great asset to the club.
New Bar Surrounds:
The bar area has also received an update, with old floor tiles replaced and new panels installed around the front of the bar and fridge area, giving the space a fresh, modern look. Thank you to Tom Riley Constructions for a job well done, along with our building committee Mick Froude and Manager Craig Allan for overseeing the project.
Taylor Challenge:
Three out of our four teams are still in contention for a finals berth, with a couple of games remaining. Best of luck to all players involved.
Future Events:
Please keep an eye on the bowls website for upcoming events, including Club Championships and special events. Be sure to book in early so you don’t miss out.
In Closing:
I’d like to thank Manager Craig for introducing a special “Happy Two Hours” in the bar, which helped accommodate members from the Yacht Club while renovations were underway at their club. Thank you also to those members for their patronage during that time.
Finally, thank you all for your kind wishes and support during my recent illness. The texts, calls, and hospital visits were incredibly touching and very much appreciated. I’m on the mend now and hoping to be back bowling next week!

This month, we’re proud to recognise Evelyn Coghlan, one of our much-loved Life Members at Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club. Evelyn is a wonderful example of dedication, knowledge, and generosity, and her contribution to the club goes far beyond the green.
Evelyn joined the club in 2007, began playing bowls in 2008, and before long discovered a passion for giving back to the sport she loves.
A Passion for Learning and Giving Back
In 2009, Evelyn began coaching — something she truly loves — helping others grow their skills and confidence in the game. Her commitment to bowls continued to grow, and in 2012 she became a qualified umpire, a role that is absolutely vital to the smooth and fair running of the sport.
As an umpire, Evelyn is re-accredited every three to four years, continually enhancing her knowledge of the Laws of the Sport of Bowls at a state level. For Evelyn, it’s all about doing things properly and always to the best of her ability.
A Trusted Presence at Major Events
Evelyn has been involved in long days on the green, special events, and major carnivals, including four years at QRI, as well as State Championships. Her calm, friendly nature and deep understanding of the game make her a trusted and respected figure among players and officials alike.
Why Evelyn Means So Much to Our Club
Evelyn is someone who genuinely loves being of use. She brings fairness, care, and professionalism to every role she takes on — whether that’s coaching, umpiring, or supporting major events. Her Life Membership is a reflection of years of quiet dedication, knowledge shared, and countless hours given to the club and the sport.
Thank You, Evelyn
We are incredibly grateful for everything Evelyn has contributed over the years. Her commitment, kindness, and passion for bowls help make our club the welcoming and respected community it is today.
Please join us in congratulating Evelyn on her Life Membership — a truly well-deserved honour.
